Scorpions open at home
The So Cal Scorpions are ready to sting the Los Angeles Amazons in the Women’s Professional Football League during the Scorpions’ home opener on Saturday, Sept. 1.
Gates open at 4 p.m. and kickoff is at 5 at La Jolla High’s Edwards Stadium, 750 Nautilus St., the Scorpions’ home field.
Two original members of the San Diego Lobos, the city’s first women’s pro football team that played at Balboa Stadium in the 1970s, will appear for the coin toss.
