The inaugural Taste of La Mesa Village went over well recently with some 500 guests.
The event was held in Downtown La Mesa at 28 businesses featuring food, non-alcoholic beverages and/or Sip Stops with alcoholic beverages to sample for those 21+.
“The downtown La Mesa Village has blossomed into one of San Diego’s most vibrant neighborhoods with a variety of new restaurants, cafes, bars, and wineries coming in over the past decade,” said Wes Troy, president of the LMVA. “We are excited to bring this new event to our community, allowing residents and visitors alike to experience firsthand all of the businesses that make up the eclectic atmosphere of La Mesa Village.”
Participating establishments included Tour de Tapas, Bougie’s Cheese Shop, Casa Gabriela, Surf Rider Pizza, Limoncello, Curbside, Johnny B’s, Pink Rose Café, Farmer’s Table, Mario’s, Trolley Stop Deli, City Taco’s, Pete’s Place, Boba Life and many more.
Sip Stops were located at various retail businesses along the event route, featuring drink samples from San Pasqual Winery, Skrewball, Hugo Cognac, Long Drink, Helix Brewery, and more.
In addition to food and drink offerings, guests enjoyed live entertainment and art displays from local musicians and artists along the tasting route, which stretched along La Mesa Blvd, between Grant Avenue and Acacia Avenue.
