With Mother’s Day (May 11) around the corner, it’s a wonderful time to shower the incredible women in your life with extra love and appreciation. And there is no better place to spend this special day than in East Village, a neighborhood filled with one-of-a-kind restaurants, shops and fun activities.
Morning brunch
Brunch is a way to a mom’s heart and East Village has tons of spots to start Mother’s Day off right.
For a classic brunch experience, Breakfast Republic is a go-to destination. Known for its fun vibes and wide-ranging menu, it’s perfect whether you’re planning an intimate brunch or a lively group gathering.
If you’re after something more low-key but just as tasty, Eggies is right around the corner. This casual grab-and-go breakfast spot serves up hearty, satisfying bites that are perfect for a relaxed start to the day.
Izola Bakery is redefining San Diego’s pastry game with its next-level croissants and sourdough, made from ultra-premium ingredients and baked fresh. Their sourdough variations—crafted with nothing but organic flour, water, sea salt, and their signature leaven—are as pure as it gets. And their croissant assortments, made with Normandy butter, organic flour, free-range eggs, and California milk, are rich, flaky, and unforgettable.
For another memorable Mother’s Day brunch option, head to The Mission, a local favorite known for its mouthwatering chilaquiles. This dish, featuring crispy tortilla chips, a flavorful roasted tomato ginger sauce, and perfectly scrambles eggs, is a must-try. With its vibrant atmosphere and delicious menu, The Mission offers the perfect setting to celebrate the special women in your life.
