Beginning Friday, June 14, crews will continue construction to widen the northbound Interstate 5 off-ramp at Balboa Avenue from one lane to two lanes and to install a permanent traffic signal at the intersection of the off-ramp and Balboa Avenue. There will be a full weekend closure of the off-ramp to accommodate this work. The following closure and lane restrictions will be in place from Friday, June 14, at 9 p.m. to Monday, June 17, at 5 a.m.: • Full closure of the northbound I-5 off-ramp to Balboa Avenue. • Lane restrictions on Balboa Avenue and Garnet Avenue, between Mission Bay Drive and Moraga Avenue, to allow for one lane of travel in each direction. 
Motorists should follow detour routes and use caution when traveling in the area. Following the weekend closure, the off-ramp will re-open and the traffic signal will go into operation.
