Looking to cook up some fun during the month of July at Lamplighters Community Theatre in La Mesa?
Isobel Lomax and Dolly Biddle are two ‘mature’ cable-access cooking show hostesses who have hated each other for 20 years, ever since Larry Biddle dated one and then married the other.
Now, when circumstances have put them together on a TV show called The Kitchen Witches, the insults are flying harder than the food.
Written by Caroline Smith, directed by Sarah Mosby and produced by Pamela Stompoly, The Kitchen Witches starts July 7 and through July 30.
Dolly’s long-suffering TV-producer son Stephen tries to keep them on track, but as long as Dolly’s dressing room is one inch closer to the set than Isobel’s, it is a losing battle, and the show becomes a rating smash as Dolly and Isobel top both Martha Stewart and Jerry Springer.
The show runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
Tickets are general admission at $26, students/seniors/military $23, and groups of 10 or more/same performance $21.
Due to the configuration of the theatre, no late arrivals are allowed. Patrons are asked to be in the lobby at least 10 minutes before curtain. Patrons with limited mobility should arrive at least 15 minutes early. Leaders of groups of 10 or more must be in the lobby at least 30 minutes before curtain.
