A lot of horsepower ponied up to the Alavi Ranch in La Jolla dropping guests to a night of cowboy and cowgirl revelry. Afterall, it was Sassan Alavi’s birthday so kin and friends flocked for a night of country to contemporary dancing and culinary magic by chef Drew.
Among the chic were Sydney Holland, Mama Puentes the matriarch, Rocio and Mike Flynn, and Anna Boesky. Cover photo is me with Pam Marks whose shirt back had custom sparkles, ‘not my first rodeo.’
And speaking of ponies, it’s almost time for the Del Mar opening. I’ve included a flashback photo when I was invited to an enviable who’s who of real horse people in the director’s room. Famous horse trainer Neil Drysdale caught me betting on horse names. Laughs all around!
